Here is a column I wrote for the Baptist Standard a few months ago. It was in response to another column arguing our faith in Jesus and the guidance of scripture are all we need to overcome any personality-related struggles and that the Enneagram was a distraction to Christians. While I have an aggressive stance personality, I try not to take the bait on every challenge presented to me. However, this felt like an opportunity for a version of public conversation rather than just a debate or argument, and I tried to approach it that way: feelings first, and not just my doing/thinking way of being in the world.
